Luis Perelman

My approach to art is the exploration of space and form. I have worked in many different media including painting, sculpture, assemblage, collage and photography.
I have attempted to approach art as a process of self-discovery, the discovery of universal patterns and motifs. I try to embody these patterns into my work. What’s important to me is the ‘spiritual’ dimension of art, free from all association and reference.
My work has been exhibited in museums and galleries in New York and the Northeast, and is in the permanent collections of the Whitney Museum, the Neuberger Museum of Art and the Honolulu Museum of Art. In addition, it is in many private collections including those of Roy Neuberger, Phillip Johnson and I. M. Pei. My most recent New York City solo exhibition was at O.K. Harris Gallery.
