Lyndell Brookhouse-Gil

I am a New York based artist and have been fortunate to work as a painter and designer for all of my working life. As a young artist I was excited by the explorative downtown NY art scene in the 80s. My process as a painter enables me to slow down to investigate moments in time. Often influenced by the direct statements and narratives of the Ashcan School. My work uplifts visual narratives that nuance collective and individual subjectivity and is dedicated to observers that also see these moments of shared humanity. Recent exhibitions include: Women of the Heights Group Show, "It takes a Community" The Amsterdam Collective, MomBasel 18’, The Dog Show 18’, Solo and City Perspectives II
