Michael Shoemaker is a poet, photographer, editor and writer from Magna, Utah. His photography has appeared in Writers on the Range, Sea to Sky Review, A New Ulster, the Denver Post, the Salt Lake Tribune, Yahoo.com and elsewhere. He lives in Magna, Utah with his wife and son where he enjoys looking out on the Great Salt Lake every day. Michael is the author of three poetry/photography collections, Rocky Mountain Reflections, Grasshoppers in the Field and Sacred Strains of Praise which can be purchased on Amazon. Michael is a nominee for the Best of the Net anthology in 2025 for his photograph “Flashflood Waterfall”. He is an Associate Editor at Fireflies’ Light: A Journal of Short Poetry and Cantos: A Literary Arts Journal. Michael enjoys speaking Spanish, hiking and pickleball.
