Robert Bryant

Tod Bryant is an award- winning professional photographer and retired Part-time Associate Professor at the New School/Parsons School of Design in New York City. His personal work includes highly abstracted sections of the interiors of vacant buildings, as well as evocative documentation. He avoids “ruin porn” at all costs and his work speaks to the feeling of presence in these places. He holds a MA in Historic Preservation and works to document historic buildings and districts for listings in the National Register of Historic Places, as well and documentation for the Historic American Buildings Survey. His professional work includes photographs of people at work and executive portraits for annual reports, brochures, advertising and web sites for GE, People’s Bank, Steinway Music, MiracleGro, Xerox, Pace University, Northrop Grumman, Fraser Paper and many others. He currently specializes in architectural photography of historic buildings in digital capture and large format film. Clients include construction companies and developers, as well as state and federal government documentation programs. His work involves creating visual concepts, casting, location finding and project management as well as photography. It has required location photography in 31 states and 5 foreign countries.
