Sabina Puppo

Sabina Puppo grew up amongst artists, and is herself the 7th generation of italian artists in her family. Her art education started at an early age under the tutelage of her grandparents and her father. Sabina was an active collaborator in her dad’s art studio where, as a child, she helped him prime canvases, mix pigments, and draw and paint in his projects.

Her work stands out for its simplicity. The sgraffiato of the oil, rolling hills splashed with vineyards and olive groves, seas with playful waves, and an exquisite combination of colors transport the viewer to idyllic landscapes. Her art celebrates life in rural and coastal Uruguay, as well as in New England. Her work has been exhibited in the United States and Uruguay, and her paintings are part of private collections in every continent.

Recalling American artist Caleb Ives Bach’s words, "Sabina’s paintings transport the viewer away from the banality and brutality typical of today's world. Sabina's paintings, whimsical but profound, celebrate the simple pleasures of working the land, living in harmony with nature and spending time with loved ones: a visual balm guaranteed to comfort the soul."
