Samuelle Green is an artist who was born and raised in rural Pennsylvania and went on to practice her work in New York for many years. She recently returned to her studio in Pennsylvania where she continues to make paintings and sculptures. Her work has always been multidisciplinary, from oil on canvas, gouache on paper, sculpture, to large scale installations. The subject often involving natures interaction with the human made word. Samuelle‘s work is strongly based on the idea that there is structure and detail inherent in nature which we often borrow from and take for granted. She’s always interested in the details we pass by every day and often do not give a second thought to: a beehive, a birds nest, or the spider web on the dusty, discarded, broken furniture in the corner of an old barn. She utilizes discarded materials and those bound for recycling to create installations that give them a new life.
