ARTIST BIO

Sarah Bussey is best known for her ability to capture both character and emotion in her paintings. Residing in San Antonio TX, she has worked in oils since graduating from the Western Art Academy in 2012. Sarah is most known for her lifelike portraits and waterscapes and says that "Water and People are a lot alike, each one has their own unique characteristics, personalities, and ways of surprising you with both beauty and mystery." Recognizing that there is always something to learn, Sarah strives to continue to discover and implementing new techniques to continually create excellent art.

ARTIST STATEMENT

My favorite subject to paint is water, I love seeing how light reflects and refracts off of it and how it is always moving and changing both itself and the environment around it. I want my art to be like that; constantly improving and giving people a place to reflect on life.  My Father used to say “The best kind of art is the kind that makes you feel” and that is my aim in every painting. I want people to be able to feel as though they were right there inside the painting; to give people a place to stop, rest, and just enjoy life.
