Tamryn McDermott

Tamryn McDermott currently lives in Alexandria, Virginia and received an MFA in Fibers and Sculpture from the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. McDermott also earned an MA in Art History and Arts Administration and a BFA in Painting and Sculpture from Tyler School of Art, Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. McDermott has exhibited work at the Torpedo Factory, Alexandria, VA; University of St. Louis Art Museum, St. Louis, MO; and the Crane Arts, Ice Box Project Space, Philadelphia, PA, among many others. She has been a resident artist at c.r.e.t.a. rome in Rome, Italy and the Craft Alliance in St. Louis, MO. McDermott has received many awards for her work including the 2013 Creative Promise Award from the Surface Design Association (SDA), The Verna Wulfenkammer Fellowship and Graduate School Fellowship from the University of Missouri, and Second Place in the Student Exhibition at the 2013 SDA Conference in San Antonio, TX.
