Tom Cornell was born in Charlotte North Carolina. He earned his BFA from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte and his MFA from The University of Notre Dame. His work deals with themes of nostalgia, memory, and our association with others through the physical world. Many of his sculptures are made through casting. Tom is currently an instructor and facilities coordinator for the University of Notre Dame sculpture area.
