Victor Arbogast

Victor Arbogast was born in Redwood City, California. His education was from Foothill Jr. College, Los Altos, CA; Universidad of Gudalajara, MX; the Coastal School of Deep Sea Diving, Oakland, CA; and Laney Jr. College of Oakland, CA. He owned and operated a creative metal fabrication business in Northern California from 1973-2003 while also sculpting and painting his own works.
Victor Arbogast is known for his welded metal sculpture, paintings and ceramics. His early work was more organic with the metals left textured and natural. Gradually his style changed. With an extensive background in welding and structural steel combined with his artistic development and the high tech boom of Silicon Valley; this influenced Arbogast's work to include more paint and complex metals such as stainless steel and titanium. Since Arbogast's move out of Silicon Valley, his interest in experimenting with mixed media, color, and abstraction continues.
Victor's sculpture has been exhibited worldwide including the U.S. Embassy in Muscat, Oman, to the Huntington Museum of Art,to the International Traveling Shoebox Exhibition by the University of Hawaii. Arbogast's work is part of a Permanent Collection in the Huntington Museum of Art, Sterling Winthrop Collection, Willakenzie Winery of Oregon, and Kaiser Hospital of Redwood City, CA. Greenpeace International commissioned Arbogast to build a 18' stainless steel monument erected on Ross Island, Antarctica.
